Greener, AIA, PP, NCARB, William C. Slack, AIA, PP, LEED AP, David V. Abramson, AIA, and staff are composed of licensed Architects, Professional Planners, CSI certified, Certified Interior Designers and LEED Accredited Professionals.

The firm and its principals have designed virtually every type of Project including; Commercial, Industrial, Religious, Educational, Healthcare, Municipal and Federal Governmental, Military, Retail, Recreational, Housing, Historic Preservation projects, and Transportation facilities.

President, CTS Group 

Jim has over 30 years of experience as a practicing architect.  He is President of the CTS Group since 2003, after joining the firm in 1998.  Jim is a working principal, designing many of the firm’s federal and deveopment projects.  His primary focus in the firm is keeping a watchful eye on the quality of the designs we execute, maintaining the firm’s long standing legacy of attentiveness to detail, and holding dear the CTS motto of “commitment to service”.  

Jim plays an active role in professional circles, having served as President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute, as a member of various boards and committees for his local AIA chapter, as a member of his hometown’s Historic Preservation Commission, and as a member of the facility committee of his church.  Jim received his Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.


Principal, CTS Group

Bill has over 30 years of architectural experience as a practicing architect.  Bill became a principal of the firm in 2005, after joining the firm in 2002.  He is a primary contributor of many of our most exciting design projects, is the firm’s leading advocate in energy efficient design, and is an enthusiastic developer of our expanding role in client service.  He is Principal-in-Charge for most of the firm’s religious, educational, commercial, and historic restoration projects.  

Recently, Bill received an AIA Newark and Suburban Award for Design Excellence for his sensitive and well-crafted design for the Gymnasium at Weequahic High School, Newark, NJ.  Bill is a Professional Planner and a LEED Accredited Professional for Sustainable Design. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.


Principal, CTS Group

David’s work, for over 40 years, has included low and moderate income housing, urban revitalization, and a specialty in adaptive reuse, preservation, rehabilitation, and restoration.  An integral component of much of the firm’s work is the evaluation of building fabric.  These analyses are for the firm’s own design work as well as for its role as consultant to owners and other architects.  Mr. Abramson’s clients include a wide variety of private developers and non-profit, community-based organizations as well as the state and local governments.  

Mr. Abramson serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the New Jersey Historic Sites Review Committee and a former mayoral appointee to Newark’s Historic Preservation Commission.  He has held a number of academic positions including as adjunct lecturer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, School of Architecture (NJIT SOA), Newark, NJ teaching design and construction technology. 

Mr. Abramson is a former owner of a development/construction company which provided him with hands-on experience in the creation of hundreds of units of new and rehabilitated housing.

Mr. Abramson received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Columbia University, New York, NY



Associate Principal, CTS Group

CTS is thrilled to announce that Renee Hobson, AIA, CID has been promoted to Associate Principal. As many of you know, Renee has been has been a tremendously important part of our success, having been a project manager and a key component of our design and production team for twenty years.  She enjoys a wonderful relationship with our clients and her coworkers, and is a major contributor to the effort of making CTS an even better firm than it is today.

In the past few years, Renee has been able to expand her role as project manager for our federal projects, excelling as team leader for our design team on a variety of operations facilities, retail, historic renovation, and plant projects for the Postal Service.   She oversees quality standards for our CAD operations, and as the Senior Certified Interior Designer in the firm, contributes to all of our interior projects.

Since joining the firm as an architectural intern, she has grown into an experienced and competent professional.  Her energy is contagious, and her creativity and precision are major ingredients in why things work so well here at CTS. 

Renee acquired her Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture and Design in 1993.  She received her licensed to practice architecture from the State of New Jersey, became a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Registration Boards, and is a licensed Certified Interior Designer.

Renee is a very important member of our team, and we congratulate her on her promotion and achievements to date.  We look forward to her continued contributions to the firm in the years to come



Associate, CTS Group

We are very pleased to announce that David Persson, AIA, CDT has been promoted to Associate.  Dave has been with CTS for 13 years, and serves as Project Manager on many of the firm’s federal and educational projects.  He plays a critical role on important design projects for the firm, and enjoys a terrific relationship with our clients and his coworkers.  His contributions to the firm’s quality standards have been significant and greatly appreciated. We are very fortunate to have Dave on our team.

Dave received his Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University in 1995.  He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and earned his status as a Certified Construction Document Technologist from the Construction Specification Institute.  Dave received his license to practice architecture in New Jersey.



Associate, CTS Group

We are also pleased to announce that Brian Compertore, RA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to Associate.  Brian is Project Manager for the majority of the firm’s historic preservation, adaptive re-use, and housing projects.  Brian started with CTS as an intern architect with prior experience working in historic preservation.  His growth as an architect, preservationist, and now project manager has been impressive.  We have great expectations for Brian and look forward to his future contributions to the firm.

Brian received his Master of Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2006.  He earned a LEED Professional Credential from the US Green Building Council. Brian received his license to practice architecture in New Jersey
