The CTS Group faced several challenges designing this significant addition to the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, not the least of which was planning for the continued use of the existing building while construction was underway.  The primary solution to the problem was the creation of a sunlit atrium that separated the new spaces within the two-story addition from Mulford Hall and the rest of the existing building

The design includes a two story, 14,000 SF addition that marries the 1961 building to the 1971 sanctuary addition.  The design features include an atrium that houses an accessible main entrance with an elevator connecting both floors, an administrative area, multi-purpose room, chapel, youth rooms and educational spaces that will support the Sunday school and nursery school programs.  The project also includes a new playground and air-conditioning for the existing multi-purpose room.
