The Morgan Postal Facility serves as the major Mail Processing Facility in New York City. The facility consists of two buildings, each with a foot print of one city block, with a connecting bridge between. In addition to the mail processing function, the North Building of the complex also houses Facility Administrative functions, the Postal Inspection Service, Postal Police Division, as well as other functions.
As part of the overall plan to consolidate postal functions to permit the leasing of the upper six floors of the North Tower, functions residing on the upper floors were consolidated and relocated to the lower floors.
